Barovier&Toso Samurai Floor lamp

Samurai
Angelo Barovier had an idea for a ribbed lamp base in 1966. In 2008 his design was revisited, but this time inverted, repeated and created on a giant scale. This marked the creation of a collection comprising a large table lamp, a suspension light and, since 2017, a floor lamp. The glass used for the collection is extremely heavy, and working it requires the skill and strength of an experienced master glassmaker. The table lamp is an impressive piece at almost a metre high, its pyramid shape suggestive of a Samurai at rest. The collection uses conventional light bulbs, with shades available in black, white or dark brown.
